Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
