The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 by the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 when they were seated around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
