Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 while you make merry? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
