The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 [The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe of which is bound to spread far and wide, 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy, 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. 16 And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger, etc.), 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. 19 Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
