The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
