Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
