The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ A. L. M. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? 2 And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars. 3 Or do they who commit evil deeds imagine that they can escape from Us? What an evil judgement they impose! 4 He who hopes to meet God should know that God's appointed hour is sure to come. He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 Hence, whoever strives hard [in God's cause] does so only for his own good: for, verily, God does not stand in need of anything in all the worlds! 6 And as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, We shall most certainly efface their [previous] bad deeds, and shall most certainly reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did. 7 We have enjoined man to show kindness to his parents. But if they bid you associate with Me something about which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you shall all return, and I shall tell you about all that you have done. 8 And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise]. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 And surely Allah shall come to know those who believe, and surely He shall come to know the hypocrites. 11 And the disbelievers said to the Muslims, “Follow our path and we will bear your sins”; whereas they will not bear anything from their sins; they are indeed liars. 12 They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads along with their loads, and upon the Day of Resurrection they shall surely be questioned concerning that they were forging. 13
