The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and his brightness, 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 The heavens and its architecture, 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 The soul and how it was integrated 7 And inspired it with the wickedness thereof and the piety thereof, 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)! 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
