Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
