Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
