Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

AND NEVER YET have We sent a prophet unto any community without trying its people with misfortune and hardship, so that they might humble themselves; 94 Then We changed the evil for the good, until they increased in number and in wealth, and said: "Our fathers were touched with evil (loss of health and calamities) and with good (prosperity, etc.)." So We seized them of a sudden while they were unaware. 95 If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them at night while they are sleeping? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Did they then feel secure against the Plan of Allah. None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers. 99
