And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
