So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
