Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
