[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
