Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
