Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and the smooth runners 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
