۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
