The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
