And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
