Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and the smooth runners 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
