Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
