The people of Thamud rejected Our warnings. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40
