The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
