Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
