The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
