Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
