The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
