NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
