Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
