Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
