The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
