The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No, I swear by this country (Mecca), 1 And thou shalt be allowed in yonder city 2 and by parent and offspring, 3 Verily, We have created man in toil. 4 Does He think that no one will ever have control over him? 5 He saith: I have wasted riches plenteous. 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes 8 And a tongue, and a pair of lips?- 9 and shown him the two paths? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 How will you comprehend what the Steep ascent is? -- 12 It is the freeing of a slave; 13 Or giving food in a day of hunger (famine), 14 An orphan of near relationship 15 Or to the indigent (down) in the dust. 16 Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion. 17 These are the people of the right hand. 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 Over them shall be Fire closing round. 20
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
