Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
