The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
