The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
