Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). 19
