The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
