The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
