Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know all that you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
