The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 on a great day 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 A book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On couches, gazing, 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
