Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
