We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 Everyone has come, each attended by one who will drive him on, and another who will bear witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!- 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
