۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
