And when Abraham said, 'My Lord, make this land secure, and turn me and my sons away from serving idols; 35 My Lord! surely they have led many men astray; then whoever follows me, he is surely of me, and whoever disobeys me, Thou surely art Forgiving, Merciful: 36 'Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Holy House; our Lord, in order that they establish the prayer. Make the hearts of people yearn towards them, and provide them with fruits, in order that they are thankful. 37 Our Lord, Thou knowest what we keep secret and what we publish; from God nothing whatever is hidden in earth and heaven. 38 "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma'il (Ishmael) and Ishaque (Isaac). Verily! My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations. 39 My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer. 40 Lord, on the Day of Judgment, forgive me and my parents and all the believers." 41
