Assuredly Allah hath succoured you on many fields, and on the day of Hunain, when your number elated you; then it availed you naught, and the earth, wide as it is, straitened unto you; then ye turned away in retreat. 25 Then Allah sent His peace of reassurance down upon His messenger and upon the believers, and sent down hosts ye could not see, and punished those who disbelieved. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 26 Then will Allah after this turn (mercifully) to whom He pleases, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 27 O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise. 28 Fight those who neither believe in Allah nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, and do not embrace the religion of the truth, being among those who have been given the Book (Bible and the Torah), until they pay tribute out of hand and have been humiliated. 29
