Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
