BUT NAY! I call to witness all that you can see, 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger. 40 not the speech of a poet. Little do you believe! 41 and neither is it - however little you may [be prepared to] take it to heart - the word of a soothsayer: 42 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 43 And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand 45 And then severed his life-artery, 46 Then none among you would be his saviour. 47 And verily, this [Qur'an] is a reminder to all the God-conscious! 48 We certainly know that some of you have rejected it 49 and surely it will be a cause of regret for the unbelievers. 50 Certainly it is a Truth of absolute certainty. 51 (Muhammad), glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 52
