The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
