The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and brightening morning, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
